5. Mr. Parker Pyne, Detective

Yeah, there’s a bad kind of creepy…Stephen King, I’m talking to you… (Not that he doesn’t have some good stuff, but he takes creepy to 11.)

I hope I’m not being culturally presumptuous, Bipasha, but have you heard of the Bollywood movie based off of Agatha Christie’s “And Then There Were None,” Gumnaam It’s from the 1960s… Anyway, I also like an indie film starring Scarlett Johanssen called Ghost World, and there’s a song from Gumnaam in that film also, so my little worlds are all tied together now. =) Though regrettably, I don’t watch as much Bollywood as I once did…
Poirot is endearing. What a character!
Thanks for reading my post!

I checked out the movie clip, maybe I’ll watch the Ghost World, too.

I adore Agatha Christie! Your list is great, though for some reason Destination Unknown always jumps to the front of my mind when I think of her.

I love Agatha Christie, I’ve read some of her books (mostly Hercule Poirot series) like Death on the Nile and Murder on the Orient Express and Black Coffee… She was really one of the best and original in the mystery-suspense genre 🙂

Can’t say that I’ve ever read anything by Christie, but when i was younger I experienced a similar love affair with the works of Edgar Rice Burroughs. I tracked down all of his books and read them by the time I was in college. Some interesting facts about Christie: like a lot of us, she experienced her difficulties getting published. It took her 4 years to get her first novel published. She was dyslexic. And she is #3 on the all time best selling list, behind the Bible and Shakespeare.
